Hi Pilgrims,

What a week in what a year :(  I write to you from Flat Rock where we have just interred my nephew's ashes next to my dad's. Oh gosh. How hard. Especially after an emotional family memorial service that spanned from Hawaii to Florida. I am so eternally grateful for your grace in allowing part of my family to gather in person so that we could cherish Kyle's life and mourn his death. it was exactly what we needed in an unbearable moment.

Amidst this week, a small reprieve from a generous spirit. Marty's retirement vacation plans have needed to adjust a bit because of his wife Anne's work schedule. In that, Marty has a few weeks time on his hands, and of course, he turned and gifted them to Pilgrim, not wanting to leave us in the lurch. I was conflicted because I truly want to honor's Marty's desire to step away. And we could use the help as we are just beginning interviews for Marty's replacement.

So here's the plan. Marty will finish out the week of September 30 and then stay on one additional week to help us through the first two Sundays in October. Even with this gift of time, our plans to say good-bye are well under way, so let's stay the course. On September 30, let's stick with the plan to parade Marty with commission and blessing. And then let's be grateful to see his smiling face for a few more days.

Pilgrims, my heart to each of you.

Grace and peace,
Lindy
