Welcome Jada Poteat

Sunday, we welcomed Jada Poteat to the choir loft to lead and guide all things musical. 
She is completing her choral studies in Greensboro and is an active member and guest director with SONAM, among her many other amazing endeavors. We are so grateful for her “yes” to Pilgrim to help us during Music Director Ali Carnes’ parental leave. We covenanted with Jada on Jan 7 for her time with us, knowing that we will leave an imprint on each other’s lives. We can’t wait to see what God might be hoping for these next few months! Jada is a Fellow with SONAM, which received support from Pilgrim’s Royalties for Spirituals Project. In 2023, Pilgrim raised funds to help support local young black musicians as a symbolic way to show appreciation for the richness that spirituals bring to worship at Pilgrim. We are so grateful that this effort helped bring Jada to Pllgrim!
