Energetic! Exhilarating! Colorful! Joyful! Fun! Beautiful! Pride 2022

Pilgrims who participated in Durham’s 2022 PRIDE Day experienced a multi-level event including preparation, float decoration, gathering and sharing at our information booth, walking in the parade, and sharing an open communion together.

We demonstrated that God’s love is freely given to all God’s children. As we walked together wearing free hugs badges, blowing party horns, rattling noise makers, carrying our Pilgrim banner, riding in the old red pick-up truck – fancifully decorated like a unicorn; we openly shared our Pilgrim mission to share God’s abundant love with all God’s children. As we shared communion together singing, reading, and partaking in this holy meal of reconciliation and love; we experienced anew the overflowing abundance of God’s love filling us with grace and joyful hope.

What an energetic, exhilarating, colorful, joyful, fun, and beautiful day!
