Assembling Church World Service Hygiene Kits

During our fellowship time on Sunday May 21, Pilgrims helped with a small but important service project. It showed that we care for our community both locally and worldwide.

We filled 45 Hygiene Kits for CWS (Church World Services). The supplies have been obtained in part via our BCS (Board of Christian Service) funds and after applying for and receiving a grant from UCC.

There were two types of Hygiene kits:

Menstrual Hygiene Kit – In many parts of the world, women and girls live in period poverty -lacking access to necessary feminine care supplies, during the menstrual cycle, these hygiene material are especially important. Not having supplies can create challenges that lead to unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

Hygiene Kits – When people are forced to abruptly leave their homes because of emergencies, they may not have the time to pack the things they can uses on a daily basis like toothbrushes, soap, hand towel, washcloth and more. These kits offer a refreshing daily boost for someone when supplies are hard to come by.

Some folks wanted to know about how the kits are used.  Here is a link to the organization.
