A Letter from Lindy Oct 27

Hello Pilgrims,

I am off for Chicago in a few hours for a Trustees meeting at University of Chicago, Disciples Divinity House, with a quick turnaround to return Saturday night so I can be with you in worship on Sunday. And heavens, do we have a wonderfully packed day for you to sample as much as you feel called to do.

For quiet contemplation, please gather with our labyrinth meditation group at 9:30am. After which you can bring yourselves to communal worship at 10:30am where Ashtyn Adams, our Duke intern will bring us God’s word this week. Please hold her with love and prayer with this initial offering of her gift of preaching.

Before Ashtyn preaches, remember to bring your beloved non-human creatures forward for a blessing of our animals. I can’t wait to hear the multiplicity of animal sounds around us.

As our prayer is to close October with festivities, come with your cars decked out for Trunk and Treat! You don’t have to go all out, if that feels intimidating, but if you are inspired–go for it! Our little ones will be shepherded out to receive your scrumptious offering of goodies as they marvel at all they see as they peak inside your scary trunks. I look forward to seeing the ways in which you costume to compliment your decorated cars.

I pray for smiles and laughter and joy for this day, as we could all use a hefty dose.

 see you there!

 Pastor Lindy
