A Letter from Lindy June 21
Hi Pilgrims,
I write you four days into your staff's collective break. We thank you for allowing us to re-energize this week. Its been an intense four months building the plane as we fly it, so we are grateful for a respite. Of course, amidst pandemic, time off feels weird and sporadic, as it must in this time of uncertainty.
For those who feel comfortable, please sign up to join with our very own Pilgrim Song outdoor concert series on Juneteenth, TODAY, June 19 at 7 pm. Nick and Danny have put together a wonderful evening of music to nurture and nourish our souls. I will be joining you by FB live, so as to keep space open for others who hunger to be connected in person.
As I hope you read in the email traffic, it would be great if we also join together on Saturday for the Poor People's Moral March/Assembly to continue the hard work of standing in solidarity and witnessing to the tenets of our confession of faith, as followers of Jesus.
And on Sunday, worship is going to be a little different from the past four-ish months on zoom. We pre-recorded our June 21 service last Sunday and will upload it to Pilgrim's YouTube channel Sunday morning around 10:20 am, so your memory muscle of worshiping at 10:30 am will hold true. After worship, the Board of Deacons will host Fellowship and Communion on Zoom. See all of the links above for easy access.
When we come back "on-line" next week, I hope you will join us for a Pilgrim conversation on current events, racism and the UCC webinar: The Cross and the Lynching Tree: A Requiem on Ahmaud Arbery, Thursday, June 25 at 6 pm.
I'm looking forward to how this conversation may help us shape our way forward.
See you soon.
Pastor Lindy
