A Letter from Lindy July 16
Pilgrims,
Who says Pilgrim gears down in July? That does not feel the case this week as the work of the Budget Committee kicks off; the Nominating Committee leans into shaping our future leadership team; the Deacons and Trustees are deeply engaged in ensuring Pilgrim’s community and campus—and VBS is in full swing. With that, we are dipping our toes into new experiences like Suzanne’s invitation to finger-painting through grief. It feels so good to be part of this beloved community that carefully holds how we bear witness to the world.
The other important meeting this week was my monthly check-in with the Sabbatical Committee where we assessed how you experienced our June offering. From all the feedback I have received–from our speakers to our staff to the members of our congregation–June was a carefully planned and executed journey that engaged us in important conversation and ministry. My prayer is that August’s schedule will continue this trajectory. We are well underway in its planning with new members of the Committee and Deacons as point-people to ensure that our worship and our guest speakers and you will be well cared for! I am eager for you to hear from our August group of speakers, composed of guest and member preachers. I pray their stories will touch a deep well within and get you thinking about how God is calling Pilgrim in our place and time to walk with those who grieve. Whoever they are and however they come to us on life’s journey, we want them to know and feel that they are welcome here.
hope see you Sunday,
