A Letter from Lindy Jan 12

Beloved Pilgrims,

AccuWeather informs me that “snow and sleet are expected Friday afternoon into the evening hours. Mix precipitation will then spread northward into Saturday morning, turning whatever comes down into freezing rain” I loved the next line that “confidence is low on exact precipitation types and where they will ultimately develop, along with associated totals of snow and ice accumulation.” As much as they are encouraged that the impact will be “minor to moderate,” but of course, we still have to plan for whatever may come.

So here is Pilgrim’s plan if Mother Nature decides to laugh at our predictions, unfurling more than expected. We are contacting our snow removal folks so they can spread salt on Pilgrim’s ingress, egress, and parking areas on Friday to mitigate ice accumulation and be at the ready for the need for snow removal on Saturday.

If temperatures do not cooperate by staying below freezing, leaving roads and driving hazardous, Pilgrim’s moderator, chair of Trustees, and pastor will make the call to move to on-line only worship for Sunday morning, January 12. We will send out notice by 5pm, Saturday, January 11 via a special newsletter and/or office google email blast to let you know of this shift. If you don’t receive this correspondence, we have determined it feels safe enough for Pilgrims to gather on campus.

Always, always, please do what feels safe for you and your family as on-line worship is available every Sunday. My hope and prayer is that we can gather collectively, but even if we need to warm up our memory muscles, we know how to pivot and shift accordingly. Always good to practice occasionally if the need arises.

until then, please stay safe and warm.

 with love,

 Pastor Lindy
