A Letter from Lindy Feb 5
Pilgrims,
I hope you are doing well during this rainy week as inclement weather sweeps across our country–snow, ice, sleet, rain–depending upon where you live. Talking to brothers in Chicago, they were digging out on Sunday in bone-chilling temperatures. I truly do not miss it 🙂 and much prefer North Carolina's unpredictable days.
What is not unpredictable is our congregational meeting this Sunday where Pilgrim’s Council will present our 2023 proposed budget. Please take time to read through the hard work the budget committee has done over many, many months to ensure that we are being good stewards of the congregation’s resources and using our monies to translate gospel into concrete action in our place and time. As I have lived in and through these budget processes for many years, what they say and ultimately do matter, for they reflect how we understand being called to live in this world as followers of Jesus.
I am grateful for those who said yes to participating in the process, for their time, energy and talent are an investment in our future. I pray you hear our aspiration for our mission and ministry through the coming year from our board representatives as they cast our collective vision. As we look at the numbers and hear our plans, I pray after a healthy discussion, we will affirm what we discern God’s unfolding hope to be for Pilgrim.
See you Sunday,
