A Letter from Lindy April 30

Hi Pilgrims,

I am rushing through my Thursday to hop on a plane tomorrow for a Saturday board meeting in Chicago, only to jump back on a plane Saturday evening so I can be with you on Sunday. Fingers crossed–no delays or cancellations. Also profuse apology if my letter feels rushed and frazzled as I hurriedly try to cross things off my to do list this last week in April.

I think my anxiety, which has played out all week– cross-wiring times in my brain, having me show up (and/or not) to meetings late more than I would care to admit. I think more than this little in and out trip, my frenzy is the dawning realization that when I return, I will have one month to pull everything together before I step away on sabbatical. As we are endeavoring to create a sacred conversation about the church and grief during my absence, we have taken on an unusually complicated endeavor to get all the pieces in place for you to engage. I hope you will. I also hope my letter (which should have come to you by snail mail) offers insight as to what I will be doing, and what I am inviting you to do. More to come!

Until then, a final plug to join me at the Durham CAN Refounding event on Sunday, April 30 at 6pm. I would appreciate a strong Pilgrim showing for an organization in which we are deeply invested, but more importantly for the work CAN invites us into for the betterment of Durham for all its residents.

see you Sunday,
