A Letter from Lindy April 20
Pilgrims,
We are busy getting ready for our Maundy Thursday service as I write this note. I don’t know about you, but I am in need of leaning into good mental health practices to help me move through the chaotic reality of our lives, where fear and anxiety lurk behind every corner, never knowing when they will reveal some egregious directive and/or action that tears at the fabric of our society.
Grateful am I that we have a trained mental health therapist who will guide us in communal movements that offer us care as we imagine with the disciples how they must have had similar feelings swirling within as they gathered with Jesus for what was his Last Supper. Thank you to Celyn Malone for guiding us through. I pray that through the practice of lectio divina, we too will feel holy breath surrounding us.
After the darkness that enshrouds Holy Week, we seek the rising sun with the women that journeyed with Jesus as they hope against hope that the promises he made will come true. That is our Easter proclamation: not only that God holds us through whatever valley we may find ourselves, but that God makes a way out of no way, for nothing with God is impossible! I will delight in gathering with you at 8am and then again at 10:30 as we sing Resurrection.
Alleluia, amen.
🙏 Pastor Lindy
