Pilgrim's COViD-19 Financial Aid

From our Moderator, Ami Nagle: Pilgrim’s COVID-19 Response

During these trying times, Pilgrims have found ways to support each other and our larger community through our two special funds.

·      Special support for Pilgrims in need. This is a time of great financial uncertainty for many in our community, including Pilgrims. In April 2020 we established the Pilgrims in Need Fund. As of late July, $3,084 has been donated to that fund. Pastor Lindy is handling requests for assistance from that fund, working confidentially and individually to meet needs. If you need assistance, please reach out to Pastor Lindy.

·      Pilgrim’s COVID-19 response.  We also launched Pilgrim’s COVID-19 Response Fund. To date, $2,749 has been donated to that effort. An ad hoc committee has been overseeing these funds and established an initial focus on providing support to vulnerable populations that had been left out of national and state financial relief efforts: immigrants, refugees, and those leaving incarceration. To date, the committee has allocated $1,300 to The Immigrant Solidarity Fund of Church World Service to support rent and other emergency needs of Durham’s immigrant families, who have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19 and are often left out of services and support. And they have allocated $1,300 to the Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham’s effort to provide emergency support to formerly incarcerated members of our community, some of whom have been released early and with no support system.

Should you like to contribute to either of these funds, please visit the giving page of our website or contact the office.
