A Letter from Lindy

Hi Pilgrims,

Thank you for your grace in allowing me each June to honor the week that surrounds Lanny’s death date. It is good for me to be with my daughter where we hold each other gently and remember. I am grateful for those Pilgrims who make it possible. Most importantly Pilgrim staff, the Board of Deacons, and our guest preacher. This Sunday, the person who will be sharing God’s word with you is less a guest than a beloved member. Rev. Carol Rawls and husband John have been a part of the Pilgrim community since the summer of 2021. They formally joined our Pilgrim last year, and we celebrate their gifts among us. For those of you who may not yet know Carol, let me introduce her.

Carol is a retired ordained minister in the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She served for many years as part of the ministry staff at Central Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky where she served in various roles as minister of Evangelism, Pastoral Care and Nurture and Witness. She later worked as an intentional interim Minister and then in Connecticut as guest preacher for DOC and UCC churches.

She and her husband John moved to NC 3 years ago and became members of Pilgrim in the fall of 2023. Grateful Parents of two adult children  and are blessed with 5 grandchildren. Some of Carol’s  passions  include spirituality and social justice. She often ties her visits with John to walking a nearby trail. Carol and John are glad to be Pilgrims!

Will you surround Carol with your love and gratitude,

Pastor Lindy
