Beloved Pilgrims,

As I watch the rain, thunder and lightning from Lanny’s hospital room, I am reminded that one of the observations made in our survey, post-Pentecost, was to have clearer guidance around protocol for inclement weather. Our plan each week is to keep an eye on the weather daily, recognizing that things change rapidly. With the abundance of caution, we will make the call to cancel in person worship on Saturday evening and send an email alert that night, so there is plenty of warning. We certainly run the risk of having a bright sunny morning, but giving people advance notice feels the priority. So please, please check your emails Sunday morning. We will also send a Zoom link under the office listserv so we can continue to gather regardless.

We will grow together in this transitional form of worship and I pray that more of you will feel comfortable joining, whether in person or online. We want to hone our ability to offer hybrid worship as we move forward, for there will always be the possibility of someone who will need to join us electronically.

For those of you who choose to join in person, please bring your own chair and water. We have made an all-call for awnings, so that we can shade the patio, parking lot, and grassy area abundantly. We will add a few more water stations, so as to stay hydrated. I hope at every turn we learn from our experience and expand our sense of worship. It is wonderful that with God, we are always a work in progress.

Don’t forget our time shift to 9:30am, which we will use whether in person and/or recorded, so as to stay consistent and not add more confusion into a transitional season. Communion, on the Sundays it is not in person, will be at 9:15am every week.

Hope to see you Sunday!

light and love,
