Letter from Lindy Feb 28

Hello Pilgrims,

With joy, I want to share that our new church administrator, Franklin Hirsch, will be coming on board Tuesday, March 16.

Franklin, a recent graduate from Guilford College, joins us with a deep commitment and passion for the ways we live into God's arc toward justice. We are excited to see how his technical and creative gifts will enhance our witness. Franklin is excited to be a part of a community that endeavors to live God's hope in word and action. Through his college years, he worked and interned, developing the many skills we seek for this position. We are delighted he wants to grow in practice in, through and with Pilgrim. Won't you join me in welcoming him to Pilgrim.

For those who may have missed the start of our Lenten series, Race and Our Stories, this past Wednesday, let me encourage you to join the conversation. What a wonderfully brave group who gathered to explore more deeply our call to see, learn and dismantle the systems and structures of white supremacy that pervade every aspect of our lives together. It is scary to become vulnerable and talk about this difficult, yet necessary subject. I am grateful to be surrounded by this willing group. The link is below if you want to be a part of our ongoing work to becoming an antiracist community of faith.

I hope many of you have read the note from Maggie Dolbow regarding Auxiliary's Spring Mission Drive for Housing for New Hope. As we join together in this effort to supply families with household staples, it feels timely that HNH Executive Director, Russ Pierce, will be our preacher this Sunday. Please join with me in welcoming Russ to Pilgrim!

Also mark your calendars for the following Sunday where the extraordinary women of Auxiliary lead us in worship to celebrate International Women's Day 2021. I've been getting a sneak peak at their offering and let me just say you don't want to miss this worship service!

Stay tuned for more news on what's to come. I pray our offering will remind you again & again that God is with us.
