A Letter from Lindy

Hello Pilgrims,

I am praying that you are all staying safe on this rainy windy Friday as we feel the outer touches of Helene. I am also praying that she will move through the area with little to no damage and minimal services disrupted. I say this as my breathing prayer as my power went out momentarily earlier this morning with the wind feeling blustery at most. Fingers crossed for the Triangle. And prayers abound for all communities truly impacted by the breadth and power of this storm.

My follow-on prayers is that by tomorrow, we live into the sunny forecast that is showing on my phone. Bright and sunny through Sunday, it claims. As last year's Pride festivities were canceled due to weather, I truly want Sunday flowers to come into bloom (to steal a page from the Pride theme for this year). We have been working hard to adapt to the unusual circumstances that this year’s event has brought and hope that all will find a way to celebrate with, in, and for our siblings in the LGBTQ community.

Felix has sent out a wonderful church-wide email listing the ways in which you can engage, support and participate. Please take a moment to read it through as it gives you salient details about the who, what, when, and where of our worship, the parade, the viewing, the decorating party and potluck to which you are all invited to show up for as much and/or as little as your schedules allow.

I hope you will be there in all your glorious colors. Blooming bright! Worship is bright and early at 9am, so set your alarms so we can start our day in prayer and song.

see you in the flower-filled garden!

 Pastor Lindy
