Christmas Cantata Dec 15
Ali Carnes, Interim Music Director, wrote this about the cantata:
In the cantata this Sunday, we will approach the Christmas story through a woman and her partner confronted with an unexpected pregnancy, the joy and peace of a sleeping baby, the heartbreaking loss of a child, and the indelible marks that a child - lost, longed for, or merely separated by distance - leaves on the heart of their parents. The story of Christ coming to live among us is wondrous in many ways, but not least because of the intermingled joy and sorrow, uncertainty and hope that make it so very human. I hope that, through the efforts of these extraordinary musicians, you’re able to find new ways to experience that wonder today.
We also shared the joy of our children collecting pennies for buying food for our turn at the Community Kitchen at Urban Ministries.
This is an excerpt from Pilgrim's Christmas Cantata: "O Little One Sweet" by J.S Bach (1685-1750).
