A Letter from Lindy Oct 29
Beloved Pilgrims,
I greet you in absentia as I endeavor to live into my sabbatical month of October. This month is one of travel: to Orlando and Chicago. Our month of speakers has been a wonderful mix of Pilgrim members and Pilgrim friends. I pray that their heartfelt messages have fed and nourished you along the way.
As you learned last Sunday, we did a bit of a switch up the last two Sundays of October, flip-flopping Shelley Beason and Ami Nagle so Ami could live into work travel commitments.
Thank you Shelley for your generosity and flexibility.
I can’t imagine you don’t know Shelley, but just in case, let me take a moment to introduce this beloved person to you….
Shelley joined Pilgrim in the early 1970’s. Since then she has served PUCC in several different capacities. She is married to Bob and is the mother of three grown children and 5 grandchildren. And she is fortunate that they all live in Durham. Shelley has had a varied career in information systems, architectural design and clinical social work. She retired from Duke Hospice in 2009 where she had been working to establish a pediatric hospice program. Shelley enjoys hiking/walking and being outdoors especially in the North Carolina mountains and she is an avid knitter. For the past 11 years she has been a volunteer at Senior PharmAssist counseling seniors on making Medicare decisions. Shelley has been journeying with breast cancer since 2014.
Please join me in extending our holy embrace to our dear friend. May we let her guide us along the way.
with gratitude,
