A Letter from Lindy Nov 3

Hello Pilgrims,

Again I write you from my mother’s bedside as she has had yet another health turn. Her rhythm of turns and plateaus have become our new normal, but they do cause a ripple of interruption in my calendar as I like to be present with her so if she awakens she has a familial face near-by. I am grateful for the grace extended me by those whose meetings I have had to reschedule–thank you for your care and understanding.

My heart is tender as we lean into All Saints Remembrance, recognizing that my mom is moving closer to her cloud of witnesses with each passing day. Each of us resides between the “already” and the “not yet”, but we each have loved ones who feel closer to one rather than the other, as I do today.

Perhaps this is why I feel such poignancy for our Sunday All Saints Remembrance. We will, again this year, participate in a ritual that allows us to bring to our hearts those we love who no longer grace this earthly realm. We carry them with us always, for sure, so it good and right to bear witness to their indelible mark on our lives. I look forward to joining with you to cherish our beloved cloud of witnesses who form our heavenly host that surrounds us creatures here below.

 with love,

 Pastor Lindy
