A Letter from Lindy July 9

 Pilgrims,

As I negotiate my way through my first week back in the office officially, I have been heartened to hear how smoothly our first month of sabbatical has gone. Thanks to the diligent planning of the Sabbatical team and a stellar cast of folks shepherding the process and some extraordinary preachers along the way, June sounded beautiful! I hope you felt the same as you journeyed through the month.

As much as the hope for July is a gearing down and leaning into the summer swelter, it seems our July will be busy, not only with wonderful activities like VBS and Meditative Finger-Painting (thank you Suzanne for being inspired by Lacey Brown’s inaugural sabbatical sermon), Pilgrim’s nominating and budget committees are at work to ensure a smooth and stable transition for our future. I am grateful for all of those who are staying the course for the blessing and benefit of this beloved community.

With joy, I plug back into our rhythm, hoping to spend time with as many of you as I can during this month’s interlude. I am grateful for the conversations that I have already had this week, catching up on what is unfolding in your lives. If I don’t reach out to you first, please let me know if a pastoral visit would be helpful during this month and we will endeavor to get a date on the calendar. I appreciate the investment that has been made to help my time away be restful and restorative. I am truly grateful.

see you Sunday,
