A Letter from Lindy Dec 22
Beloved Pilgrims,
I love our Advent season, rich with weekly rituals from Hanging of the Greens to the Christmas Cantata to this Sunday’s Christmas Pageant.
However our children show up and offer their gifts, their joy and delight can surely touch any Scrooge’s hardened heart. Will there be chaos? Absolutely! Will there be laughter? Without a doubt! Will God’s Spirit blow holy dust across our sanctuary enveloping us in divine love? I pray that with all my heart!
So let’s lean in and cherish the marvelous spectacle that will unfold before us. And while our eyes glitter with merriment, let us give accolades to our incredible youth leaders who birthed the pageant into being and shepherded our youngest into their actoral debuts. Offer praise and acclaim to Ethan McNair, Layla Johnson , and Molly Sprague for responding to the call to lead our youngest into discovering their talents within.
As anticipatory as my heart is for this coming Sunday, it is also sad that we must say good-bye to our beloved care team in the nursery. With their plate overflowing, Leo Street made the difficult decision that they needed to step away from their Sunday responsibilities, as their commute to and from Durham has become more significant. Gabe Chapman delightfully will return to us after a few months break for a time of respite. With these decisions, Pilgrim must now commission them with blessing and offer our gratitude for the multitude of ways they have shared their gifts with this beloved community. Will will miss them tremendously!
with love,
Pastor Lindy
