A Letter From Lindy April 7

Pilgrims,

As I race after a two and a half year old energetic toddler this week, I take a quiet moment during nap time to pause and thank everyone who made our Holy Week and Easter so remarkable. Our movements from Palm Sunday through our Egg Hunt on Easter were imbued with the energy and light as we danced with the Spirit through these days. For each and every person who made each activity this season so remarkable–in ways big and small–our hearts are filled with gratitude. A grateful shout out to the resurrection of our Easter Pancake Breakfast. Truly a treat for all who came!

A special thanks to our choir, our friends from SONAM, and our interim Music Director, Jada Poteat, for a beautiful Cantata. What a gift we were given! Jada, whom we will commission with our blessing this Sunday, after having been blessed these past three months with her presence, participation and giftedness. Our prayer is that she leaves as a Pilgrim friend always welcome back into our embrace. Speaking of welcome, we will do just that as we celebrate Ali’s return to the Director’s stand. With her, we will have the delight in welcoming baby Louie into our community where she will come to know Jesus through us. Lots of big emotions we will hold Sunday.

Our April is a wonderfully full month for us to usher in Spring. One Sunday in particular, I want to bring to your attention. In celebration of Earth day, we will be hosting a Worshipful Work Sunday on April 28 where we will combine our worship with a Spring Clean of our campus–both inside and out. The day will look and feel different than most Sunday worship experiences and I hope all will join in our worshipful work as good stewards to this beloved campus to which we have been entrusted. The Trustees and I will share more in the coming weeks about what to expect and how to get ready, but for now, just mark your calendars and tell us you will participate. As they say, many hands make light work.

Looking forward to sharing April with you!

 Pastor Lindy
