How important a vote we took last Sunday in electing new leadership for the coming year. I am grateful for the dedication of the Nominating Committee who endeavored to help us hear and respond to God’s call to serve. I thank each of the members of this committee, for it is no small task to secure our commitment to serve. I thank Karen Webbink for her leadership in shepherding this process.
Saying yes to serving is a big deal. And we should mark it. Our lives are already filled with obligations and activities, so to offer your gifts of time, talent and resource to help Pilgrim live into God’s hope should be acknowledged. And we are doing so on Sunday where we will install Pilgrim’s new officers to their respective roles. I can’t wait to see what the year brings!
Speaking of installing, we have again been invited to come alongside another Duke Seminary student who will journey with us for the school year. I am delighted to introduce you Sunday to Troy Matthew Jackson (Matt), a second year student, who will bring his gifts into our community. Please join with me in welcoming him into our fold.
See you Sunday!
