Letter from Lindy Aug 12
Wasn’t Brunch Church fun last Sunday? How good for us to be open to new worship experiences as we live into being and becoming God’s beloved community. There were so many people who helped make Sunday meaningful–from the Common Life Advisory Committee, Deacons, Fellowship Team, Ushers, to all those who just pitched in because we are church–thank you!
Because there were so many moving parts last Sunday, we decided to not add Penny Sunday into the mix, rather hold it for this Sunday, so that we can lift Urban Ministries in its own unique and special way. So don’t forget to bring your pennies (and any other loose change you have floating around 🙂
As we see the new school year on summer’s horizon, we said our good-byes to Kayla as she prepares for her second year at Duke. You taught her well and she is grateful to have learned so much in her brief 10 weeks with us. As she left, she asked if she could come back to worship with us throughout the year as she has found a community that holds her with care. How lovely!
This Sunday marks yet another good-bye in the life of Pilgrim. Our wonderful child care provider, Brenda Velasquez, will be leaving next week for her new educational adventure at Delaware State University. We are so proud of her! We will surround her with our love and blessing in worship and fellowship to thank her for all that she has done in caring for Pilgrim’s youngest worshipers. Please join us, if you can, to celebrate Brenda’s ministry with us.
