Letter from Lindy
Claudia Fulshaw and I spent Wednesday, of this week, touring the Franklinton Center at Bricks, a UCC social justice and retreat center in Whitaker, NC. From the moment we turned onto the property, we were held by the spirit of the people who lived, worked and were educated there before us. Such sacred his-and-her stories that will ground the holy work of those who add to the Center’s ongoing story. And this is the step Pilgrim will make, as we host our annual women’s retreat here for the first time. I cannot be more excited.
We are imagining a new way of retreating together as we explore, name and claim God’s hope birthing in and among us as women of faith. The grounds will beckon our spirit to connect with those who have walked before us. Let me encourage every and all Pilgrim women to consider joining us March 29-31. We still have plenty of rooms available, especially if we share space. The cost is reasonable. Please see the notice below for additional information.
As the director and program and facilities coordinators walked us through the property, my hope for our time grew and grew in its possibility. I pray we will be on this journey together!
