Letter from Lindy
I don’t have proper words for the emotions of this week–and its only Thursday. With joy, we welcomed Felix with open arms as she began her ministry with us on Tuesday. I believe I was referred to as a fire hydrant of ideas when I get going, at the Board of Christian Education’s welcome dinner, , so I hope I haven’t drenched Felix as she imagines her ministry in, with and through Pilgrim. I am so excited to be on this journey with her!
As if God needed this joy tempered, if only to slow me down, Tuesday Roman broke the news (and my heart, confessionally) of his impending departure. It continues to hurt ever since. Foolishly, I have never imagined Pilgrim without his extraordinary talent gifting us beyond our imagining. My prayer is just as Mandy’s leave taking felt too much to bear, God will also make a way in this moment. For out of her departure the Spirit led us to call Felix into a new role and ministry. Let this be our collective prayer that nothing, nothing is impossible with God. As Roman’s letter mentioned, we are developing a plan for moving forward and will keep you posted on dates and movement.
So, welcome back takes many forms. What I am grateful is that we traverse this journey together.
See you Sunday,
